Course Description Nano Engineering - NAE 1 |

Objectives: Provide the students with an introductory understanding of applied quantum physics, nanophysics and nanotechnology, materials, devices and measurement techniques.
Course Content: Basic quantum mechanics, energy gaps and confinement effects, crystal structures, bandstructure, elementary excitations, nanolayers, nanoparticles, nanostructuring, nano-architecture, nanoelectronics, nanomechanics, nanophotonics.
Course Evaluation: Internal oral examination (20 minutes). Marks according to the Danish 7-point scale.
Teaching Form: 8 weeks lectures and problem solving (5 hours per week).

Semester: Spring (2006 first time).
