Co-operation with the industry
Centre for Product Development (CPD) has been established by the Mads
Clausen Institute for Product innovation situated at the University of
Southern Denmark in Sønderborg with a view to assisting small and
medium-sized enterprises with technical know-how and product
development.
The enterprises must keep abreast of the
technological development and create innovative products to remain
competitive. CPD offers support to these enterprises in the form of
development projects, research projects, consultancy and technical
support, such as access to laboratories and equipment. The focus point
is intelligent mechatronic products; particularly including intelligent
sensors and intelligent actuators. The field requires skills in a number
of engineering disciplines; including optics, ultrasound, ergonomics,
mathematical modelling, electronics and digital signal processing.
CPD is situated at the Mads Clausen Institute for Product Innovation in
Sønderborg and is part of a cross-border co-operation between the
University of Southern Denmark and the Engineering/Technology Faculty of the University of Flensburg.
CPD has been granted financial support for the cross-border activities
through INTERREG III A. In the long term, the objective is, however, to
make the centre a self-financing unit.
Besides the technical support to enterprises, CPD arranges seminars and
participates in research projects. You can keep abreast of the arrangements of CPD and the Mads Clausen Institute on News and Events.
